Do They Know It’s Christmas?
Band Aid ~1984
It’s Christmas time
And there’s no need to be afraid
At Christmas time
We let in light and banish shade
And in our world of plenty
We can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
At Christmas time
But say a prayer and pray for the other ones
At Christmas time, it’s hard but while
You’re having fun
There’s a world outside your window
And it’s a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing
Is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank god it’s them
Instead of you
And there won’t be snow in Africa this
Christmas time
The greatest gift they’ll get this year is life
Where nothing ever grows
No rain or rivers flow
Do they know its Christmas time at all?
Here’s to you
Raise a glass for everyone
Here’s to them
Underneath that burning sun
Do they know it’s Christmas time at all?
Feed the world
Feed the world
Feed the world
Let them know its Christmas time ~ (Repeated 8 times, while music fades)
Heal the World
Michael Jackson
There’s a place in your heart
And I know that it is love
And this place could be so much
Brighter than tomorrow
And if you really try
You’ll find there’s no need to cry
In this place you’ll feel
There’s no hurt or sorrow
There are ways to get there
If you care enough for the living
Make a little space
Make a better place
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me
If you want to know why
There’s love that cannot lie
Love is strong
It only cares of joyful giving
If we try we shall see
In this bliss we cannot feel
Fear of dread
We stop existing and start living
Then it feels that always
Love’s enough for us growing
So make a better world
Make a better world
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the dream we were conceived in
Will reveal a joyful face
And the world we once believed in
Will shine again in grace
Then why do we keep strangling life
Wound this Earth, crucify its soul
Though it’s plain to see
This world is heavenly
Be God’s glow
We could fly so high
Let our spirits never die
In my heart I feel you are all my brothers
Create a world with no fear
Together we’ll cry happy tears
See the nations turn their swords into
plowshares
We could really get there
If you cared enough for the living
Make a little space
To make a better place
Heal the world
Make it a better place
For you and for me
And the entire human race
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me
There are people dying
If you care enough for the living
Make it a better place
For you and for me
You and for me
Candle in the Wind
~ Elton John
(A tribute to Lady Diana)
Goodbye England’s Rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed yourself
Where lives were torn apart
You called out to our country
And you whispered to those in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the stars spell out your name
And it seems to me like you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England’s greenest hills
Your candles burned out long before
Your Legend ever will
Loveliness we’ve lost
These empty days without your smile
This torch we’ll always carry
For our nations golden child
Even though we try
The truth brings us to tears
All our words cannot express
The joy you’ve bought us through the years
And it seems to me like you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England’s greenest hills
Your candles burned out long before
Your legend ever will
Goodbye England’s Rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the grace that placed yourself
Where lives were torn apart
Goodbye England’s Rose
From the country lost
Without your soul who missed the
Wings of your compassion
More than you will ever know
And it seems to me like you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset
When the rain set in
And your footsteps will always fall here
Along England’s greenest hills
Your candles burned out long before
Your legend ever will
Your footsteps will always fall here
Along England’s greenest hills
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever will

Song 1 = Do They Know It’s Christmas? (Band Aid - 1984)
This song released in 1984 was written to raise awareness and financial support for the people living in Africa. The song is sharing a powerful message to the world about the people starving and dying whilst we are enjoying a festive time of year. The people in Africa wont be celebrating as they are facing hardship and we could help by purchasing and this song and spreading the word.
The song starts Mezzo Piano then crescendos and finishes with fortissimo. The song uses a relaxed but flowing beat which flows perfectly with the music. A beat that will never get boring and it gets louder and faster as the music flows along the track. the instruments are used to create the beat that is smoothly running but also is upbeat and relaxing to the people listening. The music is major by instruments but minor with some of the lyrics. There is a clevel solo at first linking to other solos.

Song 3 = Candle in the Wind a tribute to Diana (Elton John)
3 minutes 58 seconds
Candle in the Wind was a hit for Elton John in 1973 the lyrics were rewritten and released following the funeral of Lady Diana in 1997. Lady Diana was a modern day heroine and was loved for her support and compassion. she campained across the world for different charities and causes. She tragically died in 1997 following a car crash in Paris. The world felt the loss of an amazing woman and went into mourning. This song praises the work she did and reminds us never to forget this legend and the work that she did. The song begins in Piano and using the legato technique the music plays smoothly however Staccato is used to create dramatic effect. The musical notes Rondo and Ostinato polyrhyths throughtout the track. Louder and stronger notes are used in the chorus section as the chorus starts to repeat for the last time. The lento tempo makes it a Minor tune. The piano melody has touched people harts when they hear this version since it is used in a funeral of princess diana, princess of england. This song has made me emotional sometimes when I hear this track.
